Alin Kania-Faisst
Hannover, Germany
Hatha Yoga
Alin teaches classical Hatha Yoga (Iyengar inspired). The Iyengar tradition was handed down to her by her mother early on – at the sweet age of only 5 years the small Alin saw her mother in headstand (Sirsasana). To see her Mother Kali stand on her head, was the beginning of a series of moments from her childhood that she still carries with her today. Numerous joint and long trips to India followed, having spent exciting times in the wondrous world of ashrams. The roots of her spirituality, a deep understanding of yoga and meditation were born here, in her childhood in India.
And it tied a strong bond between mother and daughter - today they complement each other in their annual workshops and yoga trips. Alin and her mother Kali also teach twice a year their legendary yoga retreats in Kalis beautiful spa resort "Reguengo" in Portugal (www.reguengo.com). They share this passion: to give each participant a grounded yoga foundation that can grow the wings of the soul. Always with the right touch of humor and lightness!
lin studied different yoga styles such as Iyengar yoga, Ashtanga and Vinyasa Yoga. She is now a mother of three children and accompanied in her pre- and postnatal yoga courses many mothers on the way to intimate connection with their babies. -

Sinead Duffy
Dublin, IrelandHatha Yoga & Founder of yogandhaSinead Duffy discovered meditation long before Hatha yoga in an ashram in Java, where she spent some months. Following her heart, she went on to study Human Rights and worked in Kenya, Lebanon, South Sudan, Ethiopia and Mozambique. She was living & working in Addis Ababa when she did her first Hatha yoga class. Sinead came home from her first ever yoga class & announced to her brand new husband that she had to move to India. Having waited 8 years to live in the same country, he let her off again and she went to train at Sivananda, Vivekananda, & finally studied Vipasana. She then headed back to Africa to teach yoga (and be a more present wife). She has been teaching Hatha yoga for 10 great years. Ever since Java, herbs in the form of topically applied oils (aromatherapy oils) had been a part of her meditation & naturally, her yoga practice. Her students repeatedly asked her to make a range of yoga oils specifically based on their sankalpa (intention). 3 years of meditation and blending later, Yogandha was born. Gandha is the use of fragrant substances to enhance yoga. Sinead travels to festivals throughout Europe teaching about how to incorporate gandha with practice & self-massage to deepen self-connection.

Maud Dreyer
Paris, FranceHatha & Prenatal Yoga, Yoga TherapyIt is as an actress of an American acting troupe , where I discovered yoga to calm me down before I went on stage . Yoga is very important for me and helps me to find more balance and to feel more in tune with myself.
Back on stage in Paris and after the creation of my own theater group, I studied yoga and finished a teacher training at the Center for Yoga with Michelle Marsh Jacobi. This training is recognized by Yoga Alliance and allows me to teach in two languages that I speak fluently.
Yoga is a way for me to find to myself . The body is the temple of the soul and yoga is a way to get back to the basics , where our inner voice can express itself and where you learn to listen properly to your yourself. In this way we become more resilient, more relaxed and experience physical as well as mental harmony.
Because I have personally experienced the benefits of yoga on body and mind, I believe in the power of it and now want to support people in need with this knowledge. With this hope in mind, I am educating myself further to become a yoga therapist.
'Throughout the natural materials and fabric Wellicious uses, they respect environment and also the body, I like that! ' -

Julia Svigir (Wolff)
Munich, GermanyHatha YogaI am a trained and certified yoga teacher (WOYO® Hatha yoga teacher training, pre- and postnatal Vision Yoga) qualified social educator and a mother.
I teach Hatha yoga, which combines traditional yoga techniques with modern exercise principles. I use tools such as belts, balls, blocks and shoulder plates to prepare simple exercises for classical yoga postures.
The origin of yoga and the belief in the power of nature characterize my teaching. Particularly during my pregnancy, I got a lot of strength and confidence through yoga. My fear of a childbirth was enormous, but then my daughter came into this world through natural birth and was healthy. It was truly an amazing experience.
I come from a very sports-loving family and had my first encounter with yoga already when I was eight years old. I got a children’s yoga book and tried to the postures of crocodile, dog and lion... During my studies in 2002 I began to practice yoga regularly. I lived for some time in New York and London, where I met and visited some workshops with internationally known yoga teachers from different yoga styles such as “Bikram Yoga”, “Yoga Works”, “TriYoga”, “Jivamukti” and now “Laughing Yoga”. In 2011 I fulfilled my dream and completed a yoga teacher training at the WOYO® Club in Munich. Yoga has become an integral part of my life.
It is important for me to be respectful towards my body, mind and soul and also to pay attention to my diet and try or to learn something new each and every new day.

London, United KingdomHimalayan Hatha Yoga, AyurvedaWith a 10 years background as a Human Resources Professional within the Financial Services sector, I started practising yoga in 2007 and ever since wanted to learn more about the philosophy behind. I appreciate the deep connection between body and soul in a way I never did before and how beneficial it is, not only physically but on a more subtle level. Through yoga I found access to myself, to my inner truth and to my soul – found peace within. In October 2010 I decided that I want to deepen this knowledge in India, the place of origin of Yoga & Ayurveda.
With the inspiration and support of my teacher Yogi Ashokananda I set off to Vrindaban in India, where this beautiful journey started. I still feel blessed for all the lovely experiences made during my trip and my studies in India and Thailand. In November 2011 – back from my trip – I started working for Wellicious, an eco-friendly, ethical yet feminine and luxurious yoga fashion brand and parallel to my work I certified as a Himalayan Hatha Yoga Teacher with Yogi Ashokananda. I am focussing on combining my professional skills with my yoga teaching and holistic skills. I am teaching in London and currently in Zurich where together with a friend we run detox weeks in spring and autumn. My passion for healthy lifestyle, helping others to understand the benefits of yoga, food, thoughts and behaviour is my vision... -
Michelle Timmins
Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Hatha YogaBorn in Toronto, Canada in 1978. I studied dance as a child modern, tap and ballet. Yoga and meditation was natural to me and I practiced as a child learning mainly from books. I was inspired by including Krishnamuti and Gandhi.
In 1996 I travelled to the north of India, Ladehk and studied Buddhist meditation. Afterwards, returning to practice yoga and meditation.
Moving to Los Angeles in 1998 for work in between travels I studied with Bikram Choudhury in his small studio on Robertson and Wilshire for several years, sometimes practicing twice a day. I noticed that this heated asana practice gave me great strength in my daily life.
In 2000 I moved to Paris and at the time there was no Bikram studio. I went back to practicing yoga through books and internet. Sivananda, Jivamukti and Iyengar yoga. Travelling to Africa and India and through Europe as a script supervisor and practicing different disciplines of yoga.
In 2002 I moved to Grasse in the south of france and lived a 'raw food lifestyle' and growing produce in the garden.
I started teaching Vinyasa and Hatha yoga in 2005 in Antibes. Afterwards I discovered Ashtanga yoga on one of my trips to India.
I opened a small studio in 2008 and began teaching Ashtanga yoga in 2009.
After many years of yoga I have found a yogic discipline that encompasses the many different schools I have practiced. I am so glad to be able to share this complete yoga system with all who wish to learn. The many different types of yoga that I have learned previously allow me be a very knowledgable, compassionate and adaptable teacher.
My mission is to empower people to live fearlessly in the present moment. -
Maren Brand
Berlin, GermanyHatha YogaWhile I was working in Spain in summer 2003, I went barefoot in the sand to my first Yoga class early in the morning. After the first asanas I already felt very familiar with the poses, as if I had done Yoga some time earlier. Characterized by this positive experience it was no surprise that Yoga became a morning ritual for me. I started my journey to Asia with the wish to discover more about Yoga. I visited convents and ashrams, where I learned how to meditate and be silent. I got to know many different Yoga teachers and styles in Thailand and India. I began to realise that I wanted to share my experience with others. In Berlin in 2007 I finally found a Yoga place and style in which I have been taught and became a teacher myself. City Yoga Shri Community in Berlin. In summer 2007 I graduated in another Hatha Yoga Teaching Training by Randall O’Leary at Koh Phangan. To share my Yoga passion with my students is the greatest gift for me. -
Janna Scharfenberg
Witten, GermanyAyurveda Consultant & Hatha YogaSince the beginning of my medical studies I began to focus on the field of pathology and therapy, on the complex concepts of health and prevention as well as salutogenesis.
"How can you influence personal health positively through simple and self-directed activities and therefore prevent the development of diseases (especially "modern" diseases, such as burn-out, obesity, back pain, etc.)?" This is one of the key questions I asked myself.
I am convinced that this is possible through an individual mind and body work (e.g. Yoga and meditation), adequate nutrition and supportive measures (e.g. Ayurvedic medicine and traditional Chinese medicine).
Along this path a positive body and mind awareness can be created and life-satisfaction increases tremendously.
And all that can be integrated with good fun into everyday life!
For me it is important to merge my knowledge of the medical school, Ayurvedic medicine and Yoga therapy as optimal as it can be and adjust it for the individual. On and beyond the Yoga mat! -

Paris, FranceHatha YogaMichelle founded the Centre de Yoga du Marais in Paris in 2001 after she felt a need for the ex-pat community to have a yoga home here, too for classes in English and French. Michelle has blended a life she loves with yoga overlooking every aspect of it; travel and teaching, dancing and meditating.
